About Jeff Karp, Ph.D.
Jeff Karp, PhD, is a member of the National Academy of Inventors. He is a celebrated mentor and Professor at Harvard Medical School and MIT, and a Distinguished Chair at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Dr. Karp has dedicated his research to bioinspired medical problem-solving. He has co-founded ten companies that have raised >$600 million with multiple products in development and on the market. His lab’s technologies include a nasal spray to neutralize pathogens, a tissue glue that can seal holes inside a beating heart, targeted therapy for osteoarthritis and inflammatory bowel disease, needles that automatically stop at their target, and more. He was selected as the top Undergraduate Mentor among all faculty at MIT and the top graduate student mentor for Harvard-MIT Students. Dr. Karp lives in Boston, Massachusetts.
